Originating from Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture is a form of healing that has been around for thousands of years. Simply put, acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles in soft tissue to influence the physiological functions of the body. It is believed that, when placed correctly, the acupuncture needles stimulate the body's Qi (pronounced chee). Qi is the body's energy force which circulates through pathways, or meridians, in the body. It is comprised of two parts, Yin and Yang. According to an article written by Jeffrey Singer, "When pathways become obstructed, deficient, excessive, or just imbalanced, Yin and Yang are said to be thrown out of balance. This causes illness [and/or injury]. Acupuncture is said to restore the balance." The following acupuncture menu is for acupuncture sessions performed on a massage table at Madison Valley Massage Clinic in Seattle, WA.
